The beginning of INDUSTRIA GASTRONÓMICA CASCAJARES S.L. go back to 1994, when Alfonso Jiménez and Francisco Iglesias join their efforts in order to create a company specialized in high quality meat products with the main idea of reviving an old product from our lands: “The Capon”.
Thanks to a unique fowl castration technique developed by Alfonso Jiménez, INDUSTRIA GASTRONÓMICA CASCAJARES, which starts as a Joint Ownership with 950 € of share capital, begins to commercialize the first capons. In a short period of time, it becomes a reference at its sector and the free range cock increases its range of products.
During 1998, with the investment of 180.000 €, a manufacturing plant is built at the village of Villamuriel de Cerrato (Palencia). It starts the expansion at the national market and the distribution of small game products. A couple of year later, big game products and fowl delicatessen products for hotel industry are included to its range of products. It also starts the elaboration of stuffed references.
The following years bring a strong and continuous promotion, but always controlled. The commercial net is growing until being present in almost all the national market. Nowadays it is made up by 60 Spanish distributors and it is starting a budding export activity which is bearing fruits at countries as Japan, Russia or France.
The Cascajares’ products provide the best Spanish kitchens and both banquet and catering rooms. As an example, we can mention the “Paradores” (hotels in some Spanish monuments), “el Club del Gourmet” from “el Corte Inglés” and the best Spanish gourmet shops. At the same time, this growing has been always accompanied by the main pillar: the quality. In 2003 we obtained the ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate awarded by AENOR.
2006 starts with the inauguration of the new manufacturing plant in the village of Dueñas (Palencia) thanks to an investment of 1.8 million of euros. Being a reference at the quality agri-food technology which accomplishes the ultimate technologies at the industry, we continue researching and developing solutions for the new catering & hotel industry. The company grows every year and it is close to an invoicing amount of six millions of euros.
INDUSTRIA GASTRONÓMICA CASCAJARES S.L. gives employment to fifty workers, including some disabled people. Our philosophy is based in moral commitments about struggle and job placement program. Due to this policy, every year is celebrated “The Capon Charitable Auction”, where people pay even 6.000 € for one capon, with the intention of making a donation for social purposes. In December 2006, the auction gave 75.000 €, the ones with which an internship for the Spanish Association Against the Cancer was financed for medical studies against such disease. |
